Captain James Cook

In this piece of writing I will talk about the brutish empire- captain cook.

It all started in 1578, Queen Elizabeth1 granted a patent to Humphrey Gilbert for discovery and overseas exploration, Soon Brave Explorers have been out at sea looking for other lands to be discovered and claimed the land for the British Empire. But one of the main lands that were sold to the Spanish was south America- whom Christopher Columbus accidentally found while finding another route to Asia by heading west of United Kingdom. When the Spanish took the fist step in there huge land (South America) they faced other people as well, Aztecs, Incas and all the other Races. Our Story starts…

In 1642 a European expedition was sailing to the pacific oceans, an explorer called Abel Tasman Discovered New Zealand. Later he sold the map to Captain James Cook- routes to New Zealand since he was scared to land on New Zealand lands. He only circled NZ with his expedition. (Which is why The Tasman Sea was called Tasman Sea) Later at November 1728 A brave explorer was determined to discover New Zealand and claim it the British Empires. He brang some soldiers just in case of something happened. As he landed in New Zealand he realised that this not just the British empires land… he met the Maori people.

Captain Cook also discovered Australia, and Hawaii, New Zealand was a place for citizens but Australia was a place for convicts. British Prisoners were thrown in Australia to be left for good. But the convicts survived by killing the Aboriginals and stealing their stuff. Captain Cook died in Hawaii February 14 1779. He did not realise that the Hawaiian people were not friendly but cannibals. So the British Empire did not occupied Hawaii but America did…
